MDC partners with National Federation of the Blind to host Adventure Day Sept. 19 in Rogersville

ROGERSVILLE, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) will partner with the Springfield chapter of the National Federation of the Blind to host an Adventure Day for blind and low vision individuals and their families this week in Rogersville.

The outdoor adventure day will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at Freedom Park, 6176 State Highway VV in Rogersville. Participants are invited to come and go as they wish.

The day will be filled with fun adventures allowing participants to experience fishing, archery, corn hole, nature hiking, kayaking, and shot gun shooting. All equipment and some adaptive equipment will be provided. All participants will be covered by a group fishing permit.

Lunch will be provided, but participants should bring all other necessary personal items. Participants who will be fishing near the water are encouraged to bring their own personal flotation device (PFD); however, some PFDs will be provided.
